Parties that POP!

My friend Elaine’s son Anthony loves popcorn and when she told me that was the theme for his party I was excited to see what I could come up with.
I really like how the popcorn happy birthday “banner” I made came out. I was just thinking it could have double as the favor bags for the guests.
We set up a popcorn bar for Anthony and his friends. We had different flavors the kids could add to their popcorn as well as carmel corn and nacho cheese popcorn.

Don’t you just love the cake Elaine’s friend made.

The boys played football for most of the party, but I did have a popcorn game for them to play. We gave each player a minute on the clock and they had to try and suck up as many popcorn kernels as they could using a straw and place them in another bowl.

This was a simple and low budget party to put together, but most of all it was a big hit!

Winter Wonderland

Happy New Year!! I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday season. I spent some time back home with my family and friends. While I was there I was very excited to host a birthday party for my eight year old niece Winter. She and her five year old sister Nora were the inspiration for me to start a party planning business that specializes in children’s parties.

Several months ago I found this frame and it became the inspiration for the entire party. Winter has a love for elephants and I had visions of a party with a Moroccan flair. After rummaging through my mother’s closets and cupboards and a few purchases from the store I crated this whimsical party for my niece and her friends.

A big Thank You to my friend Sarah who helped me drape
the fabric to create the canopies. She also helped make the pom poms

You can never go wrong with tissue paper pom poms
they are fun, easy, and festive!

The little girls got their own special table and canopy

All the kids had fun decorating their own cupcakes.

I thought it was cute they all toasted to Winter's birthday

Then they thought it would be a good idea to toast marshmallow pops over the candle

I found an elephant mold and decorated the cake.
It turned out pretty good if I do say so myself.
Now it’s time to focus on a princess party and a cat in the hat theme party that I’m really excited about. Hope you are all having a great start to the New Year.

Winter Wonderland Tea Party

Oh the weather outside is frightful, but the party inside is so delightful. Last weekend I had the pleasure of putting together a Winter Wonderland Tea Party for a 12 year old girl and her friends.

They had fun getting all dolled up in feather boas and beaded jewelry. I also dressed up some headbands with white poinsettias and tulle. I thought they turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself.

Tea was the main event however I did have the girls play a version of project runway. It’s was amazing to see the creativity come out when they only had crepe paper and foil to work with.

Looking forward to sharing more parties with you.

Time to Step It Up

I’m sad to say that I don’t have very many photos from my client parties due to the fact that I don’t post photos of the kids unless I have written permission from the parents. Not to mention that I am so busy playing my role as party host that I rarely get a free moment to act as photographer. Thankfully I’ve made a new friend her name is Elaine and she is the owner and photographer of Elaine Turso Photography. Elaine and I are participating in a local event called Girls Night Out. It’s a fundraiser to help support the fight against breast cancer. This event is a lot fun and over a 1000 women came through the doors in April. For the upcoming event on Oct. 7th Elaine created these wonderful collages from past events that I will be displaying at my booth.
This was a trail run for the girls night out event. I’m so glad Elaine took photos for me because it’s amazing what your eye sees once you’ve captured your work on film. I see empty space that need to be filled on the actual day of the event.

This is the little guy who crashed the party. He may work for peanuts, but I don't (okay sometimes I do).

Now that I’m working with Elaine I will be sure to have lots and lots of photos of my parties to share with you.
