Spooktacular Jack O' Lanterns!

It’s been way too long since I’ve blogged and there is much to catch up on, but for now let’s talk about tonight’s fun!

Ever since I discovered the Pumpkin Walk at Bainbridge Gardens it has been a tradition to attend every year. I’m not a fan of haunted houses so for me the pumpkin walk is the perfect way to celebrate the spirit of Halloween.

I love taking the enchanting stroll down the nature trail illuminated by the glowing candles of the jack o’ lanterns and twinkle lights.

This year the hubs and I decided to crave pumpkins and donate them to the gardens.

I was able to snap a quick photo of mine out on the trail.

This was my favorite pumpkin of the evening. So creative and it sparkled and glowed inside in the dark. Unfortunately I had to snap pictures as I walked to keep from holding up the line. Thus I opted to use the flash to show you the details. It’s much more magical in person.

You never know who you're going to see on the trail.

What are some of your Halloween traditions?

Parties that POP!

My friend Elaine’s son Anthony loves popcorn and when she told me that was the theme for his party I was excited to see what I could come up with.
I really like how the popcorn happy birthday “banner” I made came out. I was just thinking it could have double as the favor bags for the guests.
We set up a popcorn bar for Anthony and his friends. We had different flavors the kids could add to their popcorn as well as carmel corn and nacho cheese popcorn.

Don’t you just love the cake Elaine’s friend made.

The boys played football for most of the party, but I did have a popcorn game for them to play. We gave each player a minute on the clock and they had to try and suck up as many popcorn kernels as they could using a straw and place them in another bowl.

This was a simple and low budget party to put together, but most of all it was a big hit!

Winter Wonderland

Happy New Year!! I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday season. I spent some time back home with my family and friends. While I was there I was very excited to host a birthday party for my eight year old niece Winter. She and her five year old sister Nora were the inspiration for me to start a party planning business that specializes in children’s parties.

Several months ago I found this frame and it became the inspiration for the entire party. Winter has a love for elephants and I had visions of a party with a Moroccan flair. After rummaging through my mother’s closets and cupboards and a few purchases from the store I crated this whimsical party for my niece and her friends.

A big Thank You to my friend Sarah who helped me drape
the fabric to create the canopies. She also helped make the pom poms

You can never go wrong with tissue paper pom poms
they are fun, easy, and festive!

The little girls got their own special table and canopy

All the kids had fun decorating their own cupcakes.

I thought it was cute they all toasted to Winter's birthday

Then they thought it would be a good idea to toast marshmallow pops over the candle

I found an elephant mold and decorated the cake.
It turned out pretty good if I do say so myself.
Now it’s time to focus on a princess party and a cat in the hat theme party that I’m really excited about. Hope you are all having a great start to the New Year.

Winter Wonderland Tea Party

Oh the weather outside is frightful, but the party inside is so delightful. Last weekend I had the pleasure of putting together a Winter Wonderland Tea Party for a 12 year old girl and her friends.

They had fun getting all dolled up in feather boas and beaded jewelry. I also dressed up some headbands with white poinsettias and tulle. I thought they turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself.

Tea was the main event however I did have the girls play a version of project runway. It’s was amazing to see the creativity come out when they only had crepe paper and foil to work with.

Looking forward to sharing more parties with you.

Birthday Parties and Fashion Shows!

Today my husband asked me what the next event was that I had coming up. I told him my weekend was free and he asked if I was feeling okay. That’s because I have been working on birthday parties and special events since October and it has all been very exciting. It has also been keeping me very busy thus the lack of posts to my blog.

Here is a quick snapshot (all I had time for) of the birthday party that was held at the Port Orchard Pavilion. I’ve been working with Leah the manager on some birthday packages which I will be promoting soon.

I also had the pleasure of helping out with a launch party and fashion show for Hoochieware. Hoochieware is a new clothing line that donates 100% of net proceeds to Point Hope a non-profit organization helping women and families in the U.S. and West Africa. The clothing line can be found online, but if you live in the area you can find it at That’s Beautiful on Bay Street in Port Orchard. If you haven’t been in the shop yet I encourage you to pop in. Be sure to visit Hoochiware online too currently they are offering Free Shipping and 30% Off your Entire Purchase.

Hope you and your family are having a wonderful Holiday Season!
